One Week Down, Five to Go!

Just like that, the first week of camp is over! In three short days campers participated in a variety of fun activities.  On Wednesday we held our first camp meeting in which the specialists taught campers some of their favorite cheers and the camp dance.

This week in art campers created different crafts to celebrate the 4th of July including red, white and blue stars and fireworks.  Hopefully these crafts made it home to you!

Then, in story campers created their own little "All About Me" book and worked together to complete a puzzle of the United States of America.  In the picture below our story specialist, Jessica, reads The Scrambled States of America to one of the second grade groups.

Science specialist Claire created fireworks in a jar with the help of some campers, shown below.  Campers also conducted an experiment in which they tested the durability of different paper-towels using Claire's spare change.

Music Matt helped campers create their very own kazoos!

In Dance campers showed off their favorite dance move, while in sports they played a ton of fun games including kickball.  Then in game-room, campers completed a challenging and fun obstacle course created by our game-room specialist Louis.  Be sure to ask your camper what special they liked the most this week!

We hope your camper enjoyed his or her first week of camp and we are excited for our second week, Safari Week!  As a reminder, Monday will be Safari Dress Up Day.  Campers are encouraged to dress up as if they are going on a safari or perhaps they want to dress up as their favorite safari animal.

Please continue to check the blog, as we will update it more frequently with important information and pictures/videos of the activities campers will be participating in throughout the day.

Have a fun and safe 4th of July weekend!
